Meet Our Team


April Weems, Marketing Director, comes to Lexington Place with 15 years Sales, Marketing, and Event Planning experience. April is originally from West Texas, but now calls Florida her home.  Community involvement has always been important to her and was an ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce, committee member for Susan G. Komen races, Toastmasters participant and Liaison for Partners in Education through the local schools.  It was her involvement with Meals on Wheels, however, that increased her passion for serving seniors. April served as marketing chair as well as President of the board of directors for the local Meals on Wheels Association. After  building so many relationships with seniors through this program, it was evident that working in senior living is where her heart belongs.  On a personal note, April loves to spend time with her husband and 2 children by enjoying the outdoor activities together. When there is a little down time, she also loves to do wood-work and crafting.


alicia-teamAlicia Pishnery, Business Office Director, comes to Lexington Place with 18 years of Business, Accounting and Human Resources experience. Alicia is originally from West Virginia, but has called Florida home for the last 14 years. Starting her career in West Virginia in the banking and hotel industries, she gained extensive business knowledge that has proven valuable throughout her career. After moving to Florida, Alicia began working with a charter school in the Daytona Beach area where she oversaw and executed the administrative functions of the business, maintained state and federal compliance, developed and managed the budget, and traveled throughout Florida training other business leaders within the company.  Fundraising and helping others has always been her passion, which lead to her involvement with St. Jude’s, March of Dimes, The ARC as well as the local schools. On a personal note, Alicia lives in Edgewater where she enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children. In her down time, she loves baking, crafting, bowling and traveling with her family.


David Zold came to Lexington Place with strong hands-on experience in construction and 15 years of experience in the IT/Communications field. Having contracted overseas with the U.S. military, managed departments in private high schools and in assisted living, David is no stranger to the never-ending curveballs that life tends to throw our way.  With the rapid growth of technology in our everyday lives, we find it essential for our maintenance director to possess the ability to maintain and improve both the structural and technical aspects of our beautiful facility. David states, “My goal is to provide the perfect balance of comfort and security in our community, that’s my recipe for happiness”. On a personal note, David loves spending his personal time with his wife, tending to their dogs, chickens and whatever other critters may come his way.


Jackie Cantwell is the Life Enrichment Director at Lexington Place. Her career in senior living began in spring of 2000, in the Physical Therapy Department at a senior living community in Brevard County, Florida. She soon realized, after volunteering in the activities program, that this was the direction she preferred. So, in 2003, Jackie accepted the role of Life Enrichment Director at a secured Alzheimer’s and Dementia Assisted Living Facility and has never looked back! Jackie is certified through the American College of Sports Medicine, is a CNADM Dance Master, has completed the state approved MEPAP I & II training for Activity Professionals & studied with Dr. Cameron Camp an internationally known research scientist using the Montessori Method in Alzheimer’s and dementia. Jackie is very excited to be a part of the Lexington Place Community which encompasses all aspects of senior living!


Tina Kendrick, Wellness Director, comes to Lexington Place with 20+ years of leadership/management experience. Born in New Hampshire, Tina, graduated from Nashua High School in 1995. After graduation Tina enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a communications specialist and completed recruit training at Parris Island, South Carolina before moving on to her communication schooling and technical training in 29 Palms, California. Tina was then stationed with the 2nd Marine Division Communications Company, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina during which time she gave birth to her first of two daughters, Christina. A few short years later came to her youngest, Katelynn. Tina, ended her active service in 2007 after reaching the rank of Sergeant and after being attached to the Field Military Police Company 2nd Marine Division, as well as, assisting with administrative operations for the Marine Corps. Mobilization Command in Kansas City, Missouri.

After exiting the Marine Corps, Tina begin training as a licensed practical nurse due to Tina’s selfless devotion and the caring for others. Tina attended Americare School of Nursing in Casselberry, Florida, becoming an LPN in 2008. She began her career as a rounding nurse for the Central Florida Physicians Group which allowed her to gain a broad understanding of assisted living communities and the residents they service. Always looking for an opportunity to grow Tina took on the opportunity and became the unit manager for Savannah Cove in Maitland, Florida where she put her military leadership experience to use. Moving from Orlando to the coast of Florida drove Tina to another open position as the Assistant Director of Nursing/Director of Nursing of Woodland Towers and then again at Woodland Terrace of DeLand.

Tina’s tireless devotion and continued determination led her to increasingly apply herself to her chosen profession of nursing by becoming the Wellness Director at Lexington Place where she is currently in charge of both the assisted living facility and the memory care unit.


John Buchanan, Dining Services Director, Comes to Lexington Place with 30 years of food industry experience. John is originally from Rural Kentucky, he moved to Florida 5 Years ago and calls New Smyrna Beach home. He is an Active Volunteer in the Community Hot Meals Program, which provides meals for those less fortunate. He plans and cooks for one of the programs cooking teams. He also initiates the programs Christmas Dinner that is open to all in South East Volusia. For the last five years he has chaired the fundraisers that provide a bountiful holiday dinner with gifts for children and adults. John is active in the United Church of Christ. He also coordinates  hospitality and fundraising events to help  grow  the congregation in the community.
